Mireya is an artist, Spanish interpreter, Yoga instructor and director of a Fine Art Studio. She was a dancer and choreographer, today Mireya’s a fine art painter.
She started parallel careers in language, dance, and visual arts at a very young age. A native of Cancun Mexico, Mireya grew up in Europe and is now proud to be an American.
Traveling around the world gave her the opportunity to visit important art museums in Italy, France, Egypt, Japan, and the USA. The access to foreign languages such as Spanish, Italian, and French opened many doors in the art world. As a teenager, she developed the skills for painting portraits, still life, and flowers. “I’m passionate about art, love and life.”
“My paintings are the story of my life. My style is in between impressionist and abstract and I enjoy working with acrylic and mix media. I’m fascinated with bright colors and high contrast. I love using texture and bold strokes and I get inspiration from my emotions.”
Mireya maintains a strong influence from Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. La Esmeralda in Mexico City was her main school. She also study at Mario Trejo Art Studio in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, in 1985. Mireya graduated from Columbus State Community College with an Associate in Science and she continues pursuing an Associate in Language Arts and Painting. She is also enrolled at the teacher’s Yoga training at Yoga on High.
