Why Choose Us?

Checkmark

Captive vs Independent Agent. It is of benefit to you to talk to an independent agent, such as us!  Being independent allows us to evaluate all options from all the insurance carriers to find the best plan for your needs. If you call a captive agent from Insurance Company A, they will only recommend their plans.  They certainly will not tell you that Insurance Company B down the road may have a better plan for you! There is absolutely no cost to you to work with us!

Local vs TV (or a cold call to your house). We are local. We will be here for you now and will be in the future.  If you call a number on TV it is most likely a call center in some other part of the country. They will most likely want to sell you a plan and disappear. We review every one of our client’s plan every year.

We make it easy to change plans. We talk to people all the time who have been on the same plan for years and years because they are nervous to make a change.  What was best when you turned 65 may not still be the best plan for you now.  We will make sure you understand your new options and will never put you in a plan that is worse than your current plan!

Christa is an awesome agent.  She is attentive and made sure that my family had a home owners and auto insurance policy that was right for us.  She explained details of the insurance policy very well and made sure we had a great understanding of our policy.  I have been with Lew Griffin for about 5 years and extremely happy with the service they provide.

Other Considerations

Are you on a Medicare Advantage Plan? Here are a few things you should be reviewing and considering:

Checkmark

Network, Network, Network! Are your current Primary Care Physician and your Specialists In-Network on your plan next year? Does your plan allow you the freedom to go wherever you want if you should need it?  We are lucky to have some of the finest hospitals in the Nation here in Columbus, including OSU, The James Cancer Center, The Heart Center at Grant.  If the time comes and you need it, will your plan cover it?

Checkmark

Cost! There are 60 different Medicare Advantage Plans available in Franklin County next year ranging in cost from $0to $217 a month.  If you are paying a premium of anything over $100 you should definitely look at your options. You may be able to get a plan with just as good benefits at a much cheaper price.

Are you getting all of the benefits you are entitled to? There are many different plans that include Silver Sneakers, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Over-the-Counter benefits, etc.  Make sure you are getting all that you can..but don’t call a phone number on the TV to get them!

Are you on a Part D Prescription Plan? Here a few things you need to be aware of:

Checkmark

Price increase! There are multiple plans that are going up over 300 – 400% in monthly premium! Is yours one of them? If you are on one of these plans, you need to make a change.

Checkmark

Plan changes. Each year the plans change.  Deductibles, co-pays, pharmacies all may change.  You need to be aware and know if there may be better options.

Checkmark

Discount Drug Cards. They are great!  If you have not signed up for one you should do so immediately. Many times, it is much cheaper to purchase your prescriptions with the discount card instead of your insurance. Get in the habit of asking your pharmacist to run the cost both ways, through your insurance and through your discount card. It is free to sign up. Goodrx and CleverRx are two options.
